An expat in Australia inadvertently redefined “slow food” after mistakenly ordering Uber Eats to an address in Dublin, Ireland, nearly 15,400 km away.
Oisin Lenehan, 29, shared with Jam Press that he was “absolutely gutted” by the mix-up. Originally from Belfast, Lenehan moved to Melbourne six years ago and was staying with friends Kyle, 33, and Sarah, 29, while searching for his own place there, the New York Post reported.

One evening, Lenehan decided to order $65 worth of food, including BBQ chicken pizzas, garlic bread, and chips, thinking it was from a local restaurant. However, when he checked the order confirmation, he realised the food was being delivered to an address in Dublin where he had once spent a night out.
“The food was being sent to a place in Dublin where I’d been for a night out,” Lenehan lamented. “My heart just dropped because we were hungry and we were going to have to go through the whole process again of deciding where to order and what we wanted.”
To make matters worse, Lenehan had to explain the situation over the phone. His friends recorded the conversation and posted it on TikTok, where it quickly garnered over 500,000 views.
On the call, Lenehan reportedly told the Uber Eats representative, “I need to cancel the order. I mistakenly left my own home address in the system,” while his friends laughed in the background. Fortunately, he received a full refund.
Kyle, one of Lenehan’s friends, recounted, “He was so respectful on the phone. We were laughing our heads off.” The incident also amused many online, with people reaching out for Lenehan’s social media and some women even asking for his number.
Lenehan took his accidental fame in stride, saying, “I love that people found it funny. These incidents happen to me all the time, and I didn’t realise there was an audience for it.”
