The Tech Council of Australia (TCA) and Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) have launched a new partnership, aimed at accelerating the international expansion of Australian technology companies.
The two organisations will establish a National TradeStart Adviser role specifically focused on assisting critical and enabling technology companies across the country.
Said specialist adviser will be embedded within the TCA team to provide direct support to tech companies, connecting them with Austrade’s global services and programs.
Tech firms will gain access to Austrade’s Landing Pads located throughout the United States, United Kingdom, South Asia and Southeast Asia.
“We are thrilled to be joining forces with Austrade to help take more Australian tech companies global,” Damian Kassabgi, TCA chief executive said.
“This partnership is a huge step forward in supporting our Australian tech sector as it continues to grow and compete on the world stage.
“Together with Austrade’s global resources, we can help scale the next Atlassian or Canva, and bring more investment and productivity growth to Australian shores.”
Austrade chief executive Dr Paul Grimes welcomed the partnership and the creation of the new national TradeStart role.
“This partnership reinforces our commitment to supporting Australian tech companies as they scale their businesses globally,” Grimes said.
“By working together with the TCA and Australia’s startups and scaleups, we can create even more opportunities for the sector to expand and thrive.”
